THANK YOU!

As a result of all of your gifts and donations through direct debits we have not lost any money from H&DCYC being postponed last year.

We are amazed with all that God has done through H&DCYC and we can’t wait to see what the future holds. 2021 also carries a lot of uncertainty, but we know we are in safe hands.

As always, your prayers are most important, so please hold us up to God as we continue to plan for 2021, however that may look!

If you feel like you are able to support us financially, please go to the giving page on our website:

“H&DCYC ONLINE PROVIDED ME WITH SOMETHING TO BE HOPEFUL FOR. DURING A YEAR OF UNCERTAINTY, THE FELLOWSHIP AND COMMUNITY WAS NOT LOST THROUGH BEING ONLINE”

VICTORIA – DISCOVERY

2020

ROUND UP

ONLINE

This year was like no other. I am sure that, like you all, 2020 will be a year full of mixed emotions.

We as a camp family have encountered both happy moments and deeply sad ones. We as trustees hold you all in our prayers and would love to know how we can be praying for you further.

Though we did not meet in person this year, each and every one of our Camps did an absolutely fantastic job curating age appropriate material so that our young people still got their fix of camp!

We have been blown away by the reaction to the material the Camps produced and are so proud of our Overall Leaders for going above and beyond! We thought that this would be a great opportunity to share what we as H&DCYC have been up to this year.

To see more details and the programmes of ‘Camp at Home’ head over to our website hdcyc.org.uk

INHERITANCE – Inheritance kicked off the season with a plethora of resources. They decided to do one day ram packed with seminars, devotionals and prayer. It was wonderful to see how the young people engaged with each one of the pre-recorded and live zoom sessions.

EXPLORER – Week two was all things Explorer! An incredible pack was created for the campers to work through at home! The week was packed full of teaching, activities and prayer.

DISCOVERY – Discovery closed out our season with a week full of celebrations. Each night there was a pre-recorded camp celebration full of teaching, worship and prayer. The opening night has over 200 views on YouTube! Campers and leaders alike joined in each night to share in faith and community.

We are so thankful for all that each Camp put into their online provision. Well done Matt, Emma, Ben, Louise, Bryan, Naomi and The Team!

We are confident in God’s plans for 2021 and are thankful for all of you.

Love, the Trustees

2021 MAY NOT BE THE SAME, BUT WE ARE STILL HERE,

AND WE NEED YOU!

CAMP

2021

WE NEED YOU!

We are still unsure what H&DCYC will look like this year, but we are confident in what God has planned.

As we are still early in the year we are waiting to see what the climate will be in the summer. Due to how H&DCYC is structured and our sizing, we have the benefit of being able to leave our decision on running physical camps to a later date.

As a board of trustees, we will be monitoring the government guidelines constantly, like we did last summer, which led us to the hard decision to run an alternative provision.

In light of this, we need you. We need our leaders and campers to join us in booking on and showing our commitment to Camp.

We are still so excited and hopeful for what 2021 holds

Leaders booking on will help us to understand our capacity in the event of being able to run camps in person this year. As mentioned above, we have the capacity to turn around a camp in a shorter period of time as we own most of our equipment. So long as we have the helping hands, we have a camp.

Campers booking on is also important so that we can keep in the loop if things change. As you are aware, we usually take deposits upon booking; deposits will not be required this year. If we are able to run, you will be notified and the fees will need to be paid in full by 31st May 2021.

Our bursary fund will still be available – for details please email bookings@hdcyc.org.uk

When will we know? The trustees will be meeting in April to review all the guidance and will decide how to move forward. This will then be announced in May.

How can you book on? On our website there is a section for campers and leaders along with all the relevant information.

“WE KNOW GOD HAS A FIELD FOR US!”

WE ARE

STILL GOING

STRONG

VISION

After a couple of visits and exploring fundraising we did not feel like this plot was for us, BUT we are always looking! If you become aware of anything that you think may be suitable, please let us know.

We are so thankful for the admin team that also shares our vision and puts in so much time to help H&DCYC.

So, why a field? Though we have been very blessed and have always had a place to run camp, it would be more beneficial to have a permanent site so that we can invest in our facilities. In 2019 Inheritance fund raised to provide showering facilities and they have already massively improved life on Camp!

Secondly, with each year we are growing; growing in numbers, growing in equipment and growing in requirements. Having a site where we can build permanent storage for our marquees and technology would be a massive advancement.

If you feel able please hold us in your prayers and consider, if you are in the position, to help us financially. We have a great vision and hope you do too!

H&DCYC, like most of you know, was established in 1944 and although the times have changed, we still remain true to our core values. Serving young people, quality teaching, powerful worship and lifelong community.

This is such an exciting time for us as trustees as we feel that God has something big planned for us.

As many of you will be aware, it has been on our hearts for some time that we feel God has a field for us. We are in a financial position to look seriously at buying some land and are actively looking.

Though we will still need to fund raise, when the right plot comes up we are confident that we will have the prayers and financial support from our amazing churches, volunteers and families.

Last year we found a wonderful piece of land that the trustees and admin team thought very promising.
